Alexander Farriell is an 8th-degree black belt and the driving force behind Street Fighters Martial Arts Academy. With more than 39 years in Hapkido, Taekwondo, Gumdo, and the Kim Yong Do traditional Korean disciplines — a martial art founded by Kim Yong Farriell in 1981 — Alexander brings a depth of experience few instructors can match. He is also a recognized member of the prestigious Natori-Ryu Samurai School of War (#281), one of the oldest traditional martial schools in Japan.
A Lifelong Journey
As a child, Alexander struggled with ADHD and was often labeled a problem by his teachers. It was through martial arts that he found structure, confidence, and purpose — turning his greatest challenges into strengths and becoming a model student in both school and life. A cancer survivor, he carries a deep personal understanding of perseverance, strength, and healing into everything he does.
Beyond the Mats
Outside the academy, Alexander spent over 20 years as a retired Sergeant specializing in recovery services, executive protection, and both armed and unarmed security. That career — defined by discipline, responsibility, and service — informs the real-world perspective he shares with every student.
Teaching Philosophy
Alexander's mission is simple: to help every person who walks through the academy doors become the best version of themselves — mentally, physically, and emotionally. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced martial artist, his deep knowledge, compassionate teaching style, and real-world experience make him a powerful mentor and coach.
